DacForge works with owner-led companies that have a real problem worth solving in code, and a budget that does not stretch to a full engineering hire. Most small businesses do not need another SaaS platform. They need one piece of custom software that fits how they actually work, and a small team that will actually deliver it.

What we do for small business software projects

A consultancy engagement with DacForge starts with a short discovery call and ends with software that runs. Between those two points we do the specific work the project needs:

  • Scoping what the software should actually do
  • Choosing a stack that will still be readable in five years
  • Building the thing, cleanly, in one block of work
  • Deploying somewhere you control, not on a platform that can pull the plug
  • Handing it over with documentation a future engineer can read (we lean on the Diátaxis framework for structure)

Pricing is value based. Engagements are scoped as fixed outcomes so you know what you are buying before you commit. There is no meter running in the background.

How a consultancy engagement actually runs

Most engagements run in two to six week cycles with a weekly written update and a demoable increment at the end of each cycle. You can see progress without having to chase us for it. The cadence is closer to Basecamp's Shape Up than to open-ended sprints.

Boring technology choices by default. Exotic only when a specific problem pays for it.

Our stack preference is whatever will still make sense when you reopen the project next year. When something less common actually earns its place for your specific problem we will use it and explain why.

Who we work with

Typical fit:

  • E-commerce shops with inventory logic the platform cannot model
  • Professional services with scheduling workflows spreadsheets have outgrown
  • Small operations teams living in Airtable and hitting its ceiling
  • Owners with a specific internal tool idea they want shipped before they hire permanent engineers

Less good fit: enterprises with heavy procurement processes, or venture-funded startups chasing the next round. For either, a bigger agency or a full-time hire is probably the right answer. We will say so on the first call.

If you are an earlier-stage founder with a specific product to ship, our product development studio for startups engagement may be a better fit instead.
